Eagles MS Baseball Defeats Coastal Hurricanes, 9-5

Augusta Eagles Middle School baseball took home a 9-5 victory over Coastal Hurricanes on Saturday.

In the first inning, Coastal Hurricanes got their offense started.  Wilson drove in one when he doubled.

The Eagle took the lead for good with five runs in the third inning.  In the third, Jonathon Godbee singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.  Markice Hamilton singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs, and Henry O'Keefe singed on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs.

Graham Howe was the winning pitcher for the Eagles.  He surrendered five runs on eight hits over six innings, striking out four and walking zero.

Will took the loss for the Hurricanes.  He lasted five innings, allowing ten hits and nine runs while striking out eight.

The Eagles saw the ball well today, racking up ten hits in the game.  Godbee, Will Brantley, O'Keefe, and Howe all had multiple hits for the Eagles.  Howe, O'Keefe, Brantley, and Godbee each collected two hits to lead the team.  The Eagles tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases.  Brantley led the way with three.

Coastal Hurricanes collected eight hits on the day.  Wilson and Will each had multiple hits for the Hurricanes.  Coastal stole nine bases during the game as three players stole more than one.  Spencer led the way with three.
