Welcome to Augusta Eagles Swimming
We are excited to offer homeschoolers the opportunity to participate in middle school & high school swim team season from October - January! Swimmers will need to know the 4 strokes (Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, & Freestyle) and be able to swim at least 50m.
Information
- Open to 5th graders thru 12th graders who can demonstrate the ability to, at a minimum, swim 50m freestyle and backstroke.
- *If space allows on the team* 4th grade siblings (age 9 by Sept. 1st) will be allowed to join as junior members (will not swim in meets).
- Swimmers are strongly encouraged to attend 3 of the 4 practices per week.
- Swimmers are expected to attend some of the swim meets. We are a competitive team, not swim lessons.

Practice Information
Swim Team Season is October - January.
We Practice at the Wilson YMCA
3570 Wheeler Rd

Practice will be held:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday.
6:00am-8:00am Varsity
6:30am-8:00am Middle School

*Fees*
$295 per 5th-12th grader
($245 to Eagles & $50 to GAPPS)
$150 per 4th grader
Discount available if you've already participated in an Eagles Sport this school year & therefore already paid the $25 annual Eagles Fee.
Sibling Discount Available - choose pay in person at check out.

**You will have to travel for meets. Most are in or near Atlanta**
**You will be expected to volunteer at one or more meet**

Required Documents & Other Requirements
The sports physical must be submitted before attending practice.
(If you have already submitted them for another Eagles sport this school year please let us know)
Please Submit to GAPPS:
Upon successful registration we will instruct you how to register with our league, GAPPS, submit the required documents (Birth Certificate & DOI), & pay the registration fee of $50.
*In previous years we took care of this for you, but this year GAPPS wants the athletes to register directly with them.

This form must be completed and submitted BEFORE an athlete attends practice. Physicals are good for 12 months from the date of the exam.
- We only need you to submit the page where the doctor signs off on your child being fit to participate. You do not need to submit the rest of the sheets to us with your child's health history on them.
A Note on Sports Physicals:
If you can't get an appointment with your regular doctor, many urgent care clinics will do sports physicals on a walk in basis for around $25.
Uniforms
- For Practice: any appropriate swimming suit, goggles, & swim cap
- For Meets: any appropriate solid black swimming suit, goggles, & team swim cap
