Middle School Tennis
Augusta Eagles Middle School Tennis provides an excellent opportunity for young athletes to learn the game or, if they are already experienced, hone their skills and gain match play opportunities. Friendships are built through shared sweat, fellowship, and faith as coaches encourage athletes not only to pursue their tennis goals, but also to grow in character and integrity.
Before you can register for Middle School Tennis, you'll need to have paid your Eagles Annual Fee (this is a non-refundable $30 fee per athlete) and have an updated sports physical form. Scroll down for links!
Note: If you paid the Eagles Annual Fee last spring, you will need to pay it again for the 2026/2027 school year.
Ages
This program is available for students in grades 6-8, and for students in grade 5 who have an older sibling also registered in Middle School Tennis.
Unfortunately, we are unable to accept 5th graders at this time who do not have a sibling registered.
When
Our season runs August 3rd through October 2nd.
In addition, we ask that you keep the week of October 5th open for any practices or matches that need to be made up due to inclement weather.
Matches
We typically have 6-7 matches per season. Because of the number of athletes we generally have registered, all athletes will not be able to play every match.
Our match lineup will be determined by the professional coach and will be based on skill level, attendance at practices, attitude, effort, what skills the coach wants to reinforce with each athlete, etc.
Athletes who are newer to the game may play scrimmage matches with teammates in lieu of matches against other teams. If a match falls on a day that we would normally have practice, all athletes who are not playing that match would attend practice as normal at Columbia County Racket Center.
Practices
We practice 2 days per week: Monday and Friday from 1:00-3:15pm. These practice times will consist of an hour of conditioning, warm up, and a devotional from 1:00-2:00pm (this will be led by the parent coaches) followed by practice from 2:00-3:15pm led by professional coaches from Petersburg Tennis Academy (located at the Columbia County Racket Center, 421 The Pass, Martinez).
Cost
The cost for Middle School Tennis is $350 per athlete.
There are two options for payment: pay in full at the first practice on August 3rd or pay in two installments (due August 3rd and September 4th).
Accepted forms of payment are cash or check.
Uniforms
Uniforms will consist of black shorts or tennis skirt (with pockets or undershorts with a place to tuck tennis balls) of your choice and an Augusta Eagles Tennis uniform t-shirt.
A link to purchase this will be provided.
