Swim
We are excited to offer homeschool students the opportunity to compete on our Junior Varsity and Varsity swim teams! Join us for a rewarding season of competitive athletics, skill development, and community.
Ages & Skill Requirements
Ages: Open to 6th–12th graders.
Skill Requirements: All swimmers must demonstrate proficiency in all four strokes (Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Freestyle).
- JV Standard: 25-meter swim of each stroke with proper turns.
- Varsity Standard: 50-meter swim of each stroke with proper turns.
When
New Family Registration will open September 15th - October 1
- Evaluation: No live tryouts this year. Please submit a short video to swim@eaglesportsathletics.com of your swimmer performing all four strokes for our coaches to review.
- Season Timeline: October 13 - February 6
Fees
GAPPS League Fee - $65
Augusta Eagles Annual Fee - $30
Swim Team Fee - $430.
- What’s Included: This covers pool lane rentals, insurance, meet entries, equipment purchases, team swim caps, and league dues.
- Multi-Swimmer Discount: We are happy to offer a $10 per each additional sibling discount.
2026-2027 Registration Steps
- Submit Your GAPPS Application: Required for league eligibility. *New Swimmers please skip this step until you have confirmed your spot on the team* You will need to go to www.gappsports.com and once you have paid and submitted your application, please screenshot their acknowledgement to submit this during team registration. If your athlete already paid this fee for a Fall 2026 sport, you do not need to pay it again.
- Pay the Eagles Annual Fee: This must be renewed for the 2026/2027 school year. Augusta Annual Fee
- Turn in Your Sports Physical: This must be completed using the form linked below on this page. Please scan the last clearance page and submit it during team registration.
- *New Swimmers* Film and submit a short video demonstrating the ability to swim each of the 4 strokes. Email us at swim@eaglesportsathletics.com with the name, age, and grade of the swimmer.
- Complete the Swim Registration. Please don't delay as our team has limited capacity and we will close registration when we meet it.
- Bring your swim fee to the first practice, October 13th. We accept cash or check.
Practices
Practice Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
- Varsity: 6-8 AM
- JV: 7-8 AM
Swimmers are strongly encouraged to attend at least 3 practices per week.
Practice Location: We Practice at the Wilson YMCA. Enter around at the Aquatics Center entrance.
Meets
Location: Meets require travel, with most taking place in or near the Atlanta area.
Schedule: This is TENTATIVE and subject to change:
Meet 1: Fri., Nov. 13 @ GA Tech, 4pm warm-up
Meet 2: Sat. Nov. 21 @ Augusta Aquatic Ctr.,10am-2pm

Meet 3: Fri., Dec. 4 @ GA Tech, 4pm warm-up
[Christmas Break 12/21-1/1]
Meet 4: Sat., Jan. 9 @ Augusta Aquatic Ctr., 12pm-5pm
Meet 5: Sat., Jan. 16 @ Cherokee Aquatic Ctr., 2pm start time
GAPPS State Meet: Sat., Feb. 6 @ Cumming Aquatic Ctr., time TBD
Expectation: We are a competitive team, not swim lessons. Swimmers are expected to prioritize and attend our scheduled meets. Carpooling can be helpful and is encouraged.
Uniforms
For Practice: any competition swimming suit, goggles, & swim cap
For Meets: any solid black competition swimming suit, goggles, & team swim cap
- One team swim cap is included in your fees.
- Additional team caps may be purchased from a committee member for $7.00.
Gear
The team will have kickboards, swim buoys, & hand paddles for practices.
The Varsity swimmers are asked to purchase training fins and may buy their own hand paddles if they prefer a different model than the ones the team has.
Rules & Regulations
The swim team is a member of the GAPPS league (Georgia Association of Private and Parochial Schools) and as such, we are governed by their rules & regulations, found here.
In regards to swimming, the GAPPS sports-specific rules for swimming follow USA Swimming's guidelines found here.
USA Swimming defers to FINA for types of approved swimwear.

Sports Physical
- Deadline: A valid sports physical must be submitted at the time of registration. You MUST use the sports physical form linked below on this page.
- Validity: Physicals are valid for 12 months from the exam date.
- Multi-Sport Athletes: If you already submitted a physical for another Eagles sport this school year, please let us know so we can verify it.
- Privacy Note: We only need the final clearance page signed by the doctor.
- Quick Tip: If your pediatrician is booked, many local urgent care clinics offer walk-in sports physicals for $25 to $50.
League Registration Requirement
Our team is a proud member of the Georgia Association of Private & Parochial Schools (GAPPS) league. Please note that you will need to register your athlete directly on the GAPPS website and pay their fee.
